about me
I am a young artist based in Burford, Oxfordshire in the UK. Animals are a big part of my life; aside from my pet portrait business, I'm married to a vet, own a very energetic working-line black Labrador that never seems to tire, and usually have a ginger cat curled up on my lap (or keyboard) when I'm trying to get some work done...
I've taken a rather circuitous route to get to where I am today, having studied Astrophysics at university and been an IT systems administrator at one time or another. These days though I'm pursuing my lifelong dream of being a professional artist. It gives me great pleasure to be able to make my clients so happy when they see their completed artwork; especially when the subject matter is something so close to their hearts. I aim to capture the character of the animal in my artwork in a way that a photograph never could, so it's very rewarding when a client feels that I've achieved it as they're the best judge!
The quality of my animal artwork has also been recognised in the past by the renowned medical journal "The Lancet", for whom I drew over a dozen different varieties of flora and fauna as well as the cover for their special issue on Charles Darwin.
Thank you for taking the time to browse my website; I hope that you like what you see and might consider commissioning a portrait (or two).
